Origanum kaliteri
10-22€ / 10ml

Kaliteri oregano is a little-known jewel of Greek flora, native to the Peloponnese and Aegean islands. Its name 'kaliteri' may come from the Greek 'kalitero' (the best), a qualifier for its exceptional gentleness among oreganos. Unlike compact oregano, it is rich in linalool, making it a much more accessible oil. In rural Greece, the elders use it as a digestive tea. Mount Athos monks have perfumed their preparations with it for centuries.
Kaliteri oregano is the answer for those who want oregano's virtues without its brutality. Where compact oregano burns the skin, kaliteri offers gentle anti-infectious and digestive action. It approaches linalool thyme in skin tolerance. It is the oregano for the whole family: better tolerated, diffusable, perfect for people who cannot stand phenols.

Les huiles essentielles suivantes se combinent particuli\u00e8rement bien avec origan kaliteri pour renforcer ou compl\u00e9ter ses effets :
Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum 'kaliteri' is a Greek oregano, gentler than compact oregano. Less carvacrol (20-40%), more thymol and linalool. An interesting middle ground between the power of oregano and the gentleness of marjoram.
Less powerful but better tolerated. Sufficient for moderate infections. For severe infections, compact oregano remains superior. Kaliteri is a good choice for people who find compact oregano too aggressive.
Safer than compact oregano but still contains phenols. Dilute to 10% maximum, short courses, adults only by precaution. Better tolerated on the skin than compact oregano.
