Monarda fistulosa
15-30€ / 10ml

Monarda, or 'wild bergamot', is emblematic of North America. Oswego and Blackfoot Native Americans used it to treat infections and fevers. During the Boston Tea Party in 1773, American colonists substituted it for boycotted English tea. It was only in the 20th century that its exceptional carvacrol content was discovered, rivaling compact oregano. This propelled it to the rank of major anti-infectious agents in modern aromatherapy.
Monarda stands out for its unique North American origin among phenolic anti-infectious oils. Its carvacrol concentration can reach 70-80%, making it one of the most powerful antifungals in the plant kingdom. Unlike the versatile tea tree, it is much more aggressive and must be handled with care. Its advantage: formidable efficacy against resistant candidiasis.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.

Bee balm (Monarda fistulosa) is a North American plant. Its essential oil is rich in carvacrol or thymol (depending on the chemotype) -- it is a powerful anti-infectious agent, similar to oregano. Also used by Native Americans as a medicinal plant.
Depending on the chemotype, it can be equally powerful. The carvacrol chemotype is as anti-infectious as oregano. Same precautions: dermocaustic, adults only, short courses. Check the chemotype before use.
Same safety profile as oregano and thyme thymol: dermocaustic, hepatotoxic at high doses, not for children or pregnant women. Always diluted, in short courses, under professional guidance.
