Juniperus communis
8-18€ / 10ml

Common juniper grows throughout Europe and temperate Asia. Its berries are the main ingredient of gin (the word 'gin' comes from the French 'genievre'). Nordic peoples burned juniper branches to purify houses and drive away 'evil spirits'. In traditional medicine, juniper berries have been used since Antiquity as a diuretic and anti-rheumatic.
Juniper essential oil is a powerful diuretic and joint purifier. It helps eliminate uric acid and toxins, making it useful for gout, rheumatism and water retention. But it is nephrotoxic at high doses or with prolonged use -- prohibited in cases of kidney failure.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.
