Cupressus sempervirens
5-12€ / 10ml

Cypress is the tree of Mediterranean cemeteries, a symbol of eternity and mourning in Greco-Roman culture. Hippocrates already prescribed it for hemorrhoids. Its Latin name Cupressus may come from the island of Cyprus where it grew abundantly. In Provence, cypresses planted in hedges serve as windbreaks -- the 'cypress curtains' protect crops from the mistral wind. Cypress essential oil is a major reference for venous circulation in phytotherapy and aromatherapy.
Evergreen cypress is the reference venous and lymphatic decongestant in aromatherapy. Its richness in alpha-pinene and delta-3-carene gives it a vasoconstrictive action that tones venous walls. It is also an effective antitussive against dry and spasmodic coughs. Like cedar, it contains molecules with estrogen-like activity -- prohibited in cases of hormone-dependent cancer.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.

In diffusion, its fresh woody scent is pleasant and purifying.
