Eucalyptus cryptone is an Australian tree that remains under the radar with the general public, but aromatherapists know it well. It is THE specialist for urinary and prostate infections in aromatherapy -- a field where few essential oils are truly effective. Unlike eucalyptus radiata (respiratory) or lemon eucalyptus (anti-inflammatory), the cryptone chemotype possesses unique molecules that target the urogenital sphere.
Cryptone (30-45%) is a rare ketone that gives this eucalyptus its unique properties: prostate mucolytic, powerful antiviral and urinary tract drainer. No other eucalyptus has this profile. But cryptone is also neurotoxic -- making it an essential oil reserved for adults, in short courses, ideally under professional advice.

Eucalyptus cryptone is mainly used for prostate disorders and chronic urinary infections, in lower abdomen massage diluted to 10%. It is a powerful essential oil reserved for adults. Courses of 10 days max, break, then resume if necessary. For simple acute urinary infections, start with tea tree or palmarosa (gentler). Eucalyptus cryptone is the heavy artillery when the rest is not enough.

Cryptone is a ketone, hence precautions: contraindicated in pregnant women, children and epileptics. For adults only, in short courses (10-14 days). Despite these restrictions, it is well tolerated at recommended doses.
2-3 drops diluted to 20% in carrier oil, massage the lower abdomen 3 times a day for 7-10 days. Also effective for prostatitis in men (same protocol). As a complement to antibiotic treatment if prescribed.
