Canarium luzonicum
6-12€ / 10ml

Elemi (Canarium luzonicum) is a tree from the Philippines whose resin was used by Arab physicians in the Middle Ages for wounds and infections. The word 'elemi' may come from the Arabic 'al-lami'. Elemi resin was an official ingredient in many pharmaceutical ointments until the 19th century. In perfumery, it is a fresh and lemony note reminiscent of frankincense but lighter.
Elemi is the 'little brother' of frankincense -- same family (Burseraceae), same types of molecules (monoterpenes + sesquiterpenes), but fresher and more accessible. It is a gentle healer and expectorant, less powerful than frankincense but more affordable.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.
