Michelia champaca
40-90€ / 10ml

Champaca is one of the most sacred flowers in India. In Hindu tradition, it is consecrated to Vishnu and Krishna: devotees weave garlands for the temples. Ayurvedic texts mention it for 3000 years for its soothing virtues. In Indonesia, champaca flowers are slipped into women's hair to perfume and bring good luck. Buddhist monks use it for meditation, as its deep fragrance encourages introspection.
Champaca offers a unique olfactory profile: floral, tea-like, fruity and slightly spicy, evoking a velvety jasmine tea with hints of ripe mango. Unlike the vivid and luminous jasmine, champaca is rounder, more contemplative. Its richness in indole and linalool creates a fascinating balance between sensuality and spirituality. It is the oil of passages and inner transformations.

Champaca (Magnolia champaca) is a sacred tree in India, with intensely fragrant orange flowers. Its absolute has a rich, sweet, fruity-floral scent reminiscent of osmanthus with a tropical twist. Used in Indian temple offerings.
Mainly in psycho-aromatherapy and meditation. Its exotic, warm, spiritual scent promotes inner peace and emotional opening. Very rare and expensive. Used in minute doses in luxury blends.
The absolute is generally well tolerated in the dilutions used. Standard precautions. Its main constraint is its price and rarity rather than any safety concern.
