Vanilla planifolia

Vanilla is native to Mexico, where the Aztecs used it to flavor chocolate. Cortes brought it back to Europe in the 16th century. For three centuries, only a Mexican bee (Melipona) could pollinate it. In 1841, Edmond Albius, a 12-year-old Reunionese enslaved boy, invented manual pollination which allowed cultivation outside Mexico. Madagascar, Reunion and the Comoros became the main producers.
It is not a true essential oil but a solvent extract (oleoresin) whose main component is vanillin. No powerful therapeutic properties, but its scent has a documented effect on stress, anxiety and sugar cravings. In diffusion, it blends with almost everything. It is the ultimate binder of olfactory synergies. Thick texture, always dilute.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.
