Cinnamomum camphora ct. linalol
5-10€ / 10ml

Ho wood (Cinnamomum camphora ct. linalool) is botanically the SAME tree as ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora ct. 1,8-cineole). The difference? The environment: grown in China at low altitude, Cinnamomum camphora produces linalool (Ho wood). Grown in Madagascar at altitude, it produces 1,8-cineole (ravintsara). It is the same phenomenon as thyme chemotypes. Ho wood was developed as a sustainable alternative to rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora), an endangered Amazonian species, as both contain the same active ingredient: linalool.
With over 95% linalool, Ho wood is one of the purest natural sources of this molecule. It has exactly the same profile as rosewood, but from an abundant and cultivable tree (vs rosewood, a CITES-protected species). In ethical aromatherapy, Ho wood is the systematic replacement for rosewood.
