Ocimum basilicum ct. linalol
7-15€ / 10ml

Basil has been revered since Antiquity -- its name comes from the Greek 'basilikon' (royal plant). In India, holy basil (tulsi) is an incarnation of Lakshmi. The linalool chemotype, cultivated in Egypt and the Mediterranean, is distinguished from tropical basil (rich in potentially carcinogenic methyl chavicol) by its gentleness and safety. Egyptians were already distilling it for royal ointments. Modern aromatherapy rediscovered it as the ideal alternative to tropical basil for children.
Sweet basil linalool is the answer for those who love tropical basil but fear its methyl chavicol content. Its linalool (60-80%) makes it a gentle and safe antispasmodic, usable from 3 years. Where the tropical is powerful but controversial, linalool offers more subtle but very effective action on digestive spasms. More pleasant olfactively: fresh, herbaceous and floral.
