Thymus vulgaris ct. thujanol
20-45€ / 10ml

Thujanol thyme is the rarest of the four thyme chemotypes. It grows mainly in Provence, under very specific soil and exposure conditions. Production is limited, which explains its high price (20-45 EUR/10ml). It was popularized by aromatherapist Pierre Franchomme in the 1990s as the 'intermediate' thyme between thymol (too powerful) and linalool (sometimes insufficient).
Thujanol thyme is unique because it combines significant anti-infectious properties (thujanol = antibacterial, antiviral) with hepatoprotection (it protects the liver instead of attacking it). It is the ONLY thyme that can be used in long courses without hepatic risk. It is also the only thyme suitable for children over 3 years.

Thujanol thyme is the most balanced versatile anti-infectious. It can be used in long courses (3 weeks) thanks to its absence of hepatotoxicity. Topically (chest massage), orally (in honey or carrier oil) or in diffusion. Its high price is justified by its rarity and versatility.
It is the throat specialist: sore throat, pharyngitis, laryngitis. Thujanol has powerful antibacterial and antiviral activity without the aggressiveness of thymol. 1 drop directly on the throat or diluted in honey, 3-4 times a day.
It is the safest of all thymes. Thujanol is neither dermocaustic, nor hepatotoxic, nor neurotoxic. Usable from age 3 diluted. It is the ideal thyme for the whole family. Only precaution: high price (15-30 EUR/5ml).
The thujanol chemotype only develops under very specific conditions in France (Provence, Ardeche). Production is limited and unpredictable -- some years the harvest fails. This explains its high price and frequent stock shortages.
