Thymus satureioides
8-18€ / 10ml

Satureja-type thyme is an endemic treasure of Morocco, growing in the Atlas Mountains. The Berbers call it 'azukni' and have used it for generations as a tea against infections and as a poultice for joint pain. In the souks of Marrakech, it is found dried, sold by traditional herbalists. Its particularity: a profile dominated by borneol, a terpene alcohol with remarkable analgesic properties.
Satureja-type thyme occupies a singular place among thymes. Its borneol differentiates it from thymol thyme (aggressive) and linalool thyme (gentle). It offers a compromise: anti-infectious activity thanks to minority phenols, plus a joint analgesic effect provided by borneol. It is the thyme for rheumatic pain and moderate infections.

Thymus satureioides is a Moroccan thyme rich in borneol and carvacrol. It occupies a middle ground between the aggressive thymol thyme and gentle linalool thyme. It has both anti-infectious and joint analgesic properties.
More moderate than thymol thyme but still requires caution due to minority phenols. Dilute to 10% maximum for skin application. Avoid in children under 6 and pregnant women. Its borneol also contraindicates it for epileptics.
Moderate respiratory and joint infections, muscle and joint pain (borneol), general immune support. A good compromise between effectiveness and tolerance. Ideal for the fall and winter season.
