Cedrelopsis grevei
8-15€ / 10ml

Katafray (Cedrelopsis grevei) is a tree endemic to Madagascar, where it grows in the dry forests of the south and west of the island. Malagasy people have used its bark for generations against joint pain and fevers -- the bark is prepared as a decoction or maceration. Katafray essential oil is relatively recent in the Western aromatic pharmacopoeia. It was popularized by French-speaking aromatherapists who work with Malagasy plants.
Katafray has an original biochemical profile, rich in ishwarane and copaene -- sesquiterpenes rarely found in essential oils. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic action is powerful and well tolerated (not skin-burning, not hepatotoxic). It is an interesting alternative to wintergreen for people who cannot tolerate salicylates.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.
