Citrus bergamia
8-15€ / 10ml

Bergamot is a mysterious citrus, probably a natural hybrid between lemon and bitter orange, which appeared in southern Italy. Calabria produces 80% of the world's bergamot, along a coastal strip of barely 100 km. It is the signature ingredient of Earl Grey tea -- Count Grey reportedly received a blend of tea scented with bergamot as a gift from a Chinese mandarin in the 19th century. In perfumery, bergamot is part of the original Eau de Cologne created in Cologne in 1709.
The only citrus essential oil containing both linalyl acetate (relaxing) and limonene (tonic), bergamot is a unique balancer: it calms without putting you to sleep. Caution: it contains furocoumarins (bergaptene) that are highly photosensitizing. FCF (Furocoumarin Free) versions exist for skin application.
Les propriétés listées reposent sur des études in vitro et/ou un usage traditionnel. Sauf mention contraire, elles n'ont pas été validées par des essais cliniques humains rigoureux. Ces informations ne constituent pas un avis médical.
